Sclerotherapy is the gold standard of treatment for spider veins on the legs and thighs. A small amount of a sclerosing agent is superficially injected into each spider vein. The treatment takes about 30 minutes and there is little discomfort or down time. The legs are wrapped with a bandage, and compression stockings are recommended to be worn for several days after the treatment. Often times, 2 or 3 treatments are needed to obtain optimal results. We also use the Nd:Yag 1064 nm laser and the V-Beam laser for smaller, hard to treat veins.
