Dr. Leichter grew up in the Five Towns. He graduated with honors from Kenyon College and received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1974. He completed his medical internship and then his dermatology residency at New York University Medical Center from 1974-1978.
Dr. Leichter went on to private practice, opening his first office in 1978 in the Rockville Centre/Oceanside area. He remained on the faculty on NYU until 1978 as an Assistant Clinical Professor, and since 1983 he has been Chief of Dermatology at South Nassau Communities Hospital. He has a strong interest in general dermatology and skin cancer. Other long-term interests include laser surgery and the restoration of the aging face.
Dr. Cohen was born in 1960 and grew up in Brooklyn. He has been in practice since 1989. After graduating summa cum laude from Brooklyn College in 1981, he attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating in 1985 as a member of the honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his medical internship at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City in 1986 and his dermatology residency at the NYU Medical Center in 1989.
Dr. Cohen devotes his time to both general dermatology and dermatologic/cosmetic surgery. He has special interest in hair restoration surgery, laser therapy, and treatment of aging skin.

Dr. Silverman grew up in the Five Towns. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center in 1989 and his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1994. He did a two-year clinical research fellowship at the New York University Skin and Cancer Hospital. During this time he authored and co-authored 17 original publications on malignant melanoma and basal cell carcinoma, and presented his research at national and international conferences.
Dr. Silverman is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Dermatology. His special interest is in melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, and he enjoys laser therapy and general dermatology.
Dr. Michael Cohen has been in practice since 1994. He graduated from the six-year medical education program at Boston University and received his medical degree in 1989. He completed his medical internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1990, his dermatology residency at UCLA Medical Center in 1993, and a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Boston Medical Center in 1994. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at NYU School of Medicine.
Dr. Cohen specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery for the removal of facial skin cancers and has a particular interest in facial reconstruction. He performs approximately 1,000 skin cancer surgeries a year and has performed over 10,000 surgeries in his career. He is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.

Dr. Kornreich grew up on Staten Island. He graduated from Harvard University and received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1995. He completed his medical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1996 and his dermatology residency at NYU Medical Center in 1999. He has practiced at South Nassau Dermatology since 1999.
Dr. Eisenstat has been at South Nassau Dermatology for over 20 years. He grew up in Queens and graduated from MIT and the University of Pennsylvania, where he received an advanced degree in physics and biophysics. He then received his medical degree from New York University Medical School in 1975. He completed his medical internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in 1976 and his dermatology residency at NYU Medical Center in 1977. Dr. Eisenstat did two years of research in inflammation before going into full-time clinical medicine. For five years he was on the faculty at Westchester Medical Center, where he was in charge of dermatology resident teaching.
Dr. Lowenstein grew up in Israel and the Five Towns. She graduated from Queens College and received her medical degree in 1995 from New York University, where she also earned her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. She completed her medical internship at Long Island Jewish Hospital in 1996 and her dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1999. She serves as an assistant clinical professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she teaches dermatology residents and is involved in their research program. She is fluent in Hebrew, German and medical Spanish.

Dr. Reichel grew up in New York City. He graduated from Harvard University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Montefiore Medical Center in 1989, his dermatology residency at the University of California at Davis Medical Center in 1992, and Fellowships in Dermatopathology and Clinical and Laboratory Dermatological Immunology at NYU Medical Center from 1992-1994. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Areas of interest include unusual eruptions and malignant melanoma.
Dr. Kaufmann grew up in Long Island and graduated
summa cum laude from Adelphi University. She received
her medical degree from State University of New York
at Stony Brook graduating in 2000 with a MD with
recognition in research and as a member of the honor
society Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her
internship and dermatology residency at SUNY Stony
Brook from 2000-2004. Dr. Kaufmann serves
as an
Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY Stony Brook where
she teaches dermatology residents.
Dr. Salvemini, former chief of dermatology for North Shore University Hospital and LIJ Medical Center is a native of Long Island. She received her education through the 7 year B.A./M.D. program at CUNY Brooklyn College and SUNY Downstate. Her training included an internship in Internal Medicine at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center (Jacobi) and residency in dermatology at King County Medical Center. She practices general, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology including but not limited to Botox, Restylene, Radiesse, sclerotherapy and laser surgery.

Dr. Abitbol grew up on Long Island. She graduated summa cum laude from Binghamton University, and received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She completed an internship in internal medicine at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital, and a residency in dermatology at Roger Williams Medical Center, where she served as chief resident.
